NDSU to Celebrate Opening of Interactive Campus Arboretum on Sept. 30 (morningagclips.com) — NDSU is inviting Fargo residents to a ribbon-cutting on Sept. 30 for its new Interactive Campus Arboretum at the university's main gate. The self-guided tree and shrub trail uses QR codes to offer plant information and quizzes, supporting campus sustainability and giving locals a fresh way to explore urban forestry close to home.
   

2. Fargo Park District seeks evergreen donation for Santa Village (valleynewslive.com) — If you have a big, healthy evergreen in your Fargo yard, the Park District wants to turn it into the centerpiece of Santa Village at Rheault Farm this holiday season. They're seeking at least 20-foot trees within city limits and will remove the chosen one and grind the stump for free, with interested residents asked to email the district forester by Oct. 16.
   

3. Student taken into custody after weapon report at Fargo North High School (valleynewslive.com) — A student at Fargo North High School was taken into custody Monday after administrators and Fargo police responded to reports of a possible weapon and found a BB gun. Emergency protocols were activated, no threats were made, and the student has been indefinitely suspended while the district and police continue their investigation.
   

4. Fargo police honor trio with lifesaving awards (inforum.com) — Fargo residents just saw three of their neighbors recognized for dramatic lifesaving actions, including CPR that saved a drowning boy at a local hotel pool and a choking toddler outside a south Fargo apartment. The Fargo Police Department honored them with Citizen Distinguished Service and Life Saving Awards, underscoring how everyday training and quick reactions can make a life-or-death difference in local emergencies.
   

5. Elijah B. Baumann (kfgo.com) — Family and friends in the Fargo-Moorhead area are mourning Elijah Blue Baumann, who was born in Fargo, worked in concrete and snow removal, and deeply loved his children and relatives. Memorial services are set for October 2 in Moorhead, with a reception that evening in West Fargo, giving local residents a chance to pay their respects.
