• VA Secretary Backs New Veterans Home for Northwestern North Dakota (watfordcitynd.com) — Lisbon’s state-run North Dakota Veterans Home is currently the only such facility in the state, forcing some western veterans to drive more than 300 miles for care. Federal VA Secretary Doug Collins now supports building an additional veterans home in northwestern North Dakota, and Sen. John Hoeven says a statewide study is underway to determine where and how big it should be.
