• High school football game in Akron ends early amid off-field fights; 15-year-old arrested (wkyc.com) — An Akron high school football game at Ellet Community Learning Center was stopped in the third quarter after multiple fights broke out among juveniles off the field, prompting a heavy police response. A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center, and Akron Public Schools officials are reviewing what led to the early ending.

• Mother burying second son in three years after Akron pedestrian crash (cleveland19.com) — A 35-year-old Akron man was killed early Sunday while crossing West Market Street in Highland Square, and his mother is now mourning her second son lost in three years. Police say a speeding Chrysler 300 hit him, then crashed into several vehicles, injuring two others. Investigators suspect the driver was intoxicated and are awaiting toxicology results.
