• Amherst boys volleyball ascends to win first home playoff game, sweep Brecksville-Broadview Heights (morningjournal.com) — Amherst fans just watched history as the Comets boys volleyball team swept Brecksville-Broadview Heights to earn the program’s first-ever home playoff win. Riding a dominant night from middle blocker Gavin Beckler and strong home-court energy, Amherst improved to 16-7 and will host the next Division II Region 6 tournament match on May 14.
   

• Former Lorain County Sheriff Office's employee files suit against dept., employee (morningjournal.com) — An Amherst resident is suing the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, alleging she was wrongfully fired from her clerical job after taking medically documented leave for multiple sclerosis. The lawsuit, now before a Lorain County Common Pleas judge, claims disability discrimination, retaliation, and emotional and economic harm, and seeks reinstatement, back pay, and significant damages from the department and a supervisor.
