Coburn Gallery hosting 'An Afterimage of a Myth Unraveling' exhibition from Oct. 8-31 (ashland.edu) — Art lovers in Ashland can visit Coburn Gallery at Ashland University for Michael Schmidt’s solo exhibition, "An Afterimage of a Myth Unraveling," running Oct. 8–31 with a free opening reception on Oct. 8. The show features time-focused, media-aware drawings and animations, and the gallery offers free admission with convenient weekday and weekend hours on College Avenue.

4. I-Team: Local case could lead to tougher penalties for animal abuse (fox8.com) — An animal abuse case in Ashland County, involving a local dog breeder now facing multiple misdemeanor charges, is fueling a push in Columbus to toughen Ohio’s penalties for sexual conduct with animals. Ashland University dedicates new Schar Plaza, honors benefactors of $20M donation – largest gift in university history (ashland.edu) — Ashland residents will see a transformed Ashland University campus thanks to a $20 million gift from Dwight and Martha Schar, funding major renovations to Amstutz, Jacobs and Andrews halls and the new Schar Plaza. The donation, part of $60 million in total support, upgrades student housing, beautifies campus spaces and strengthens academic and athletic programs right in the heart of Ashland.
