• Avon Lake already preparing for next winter by adding salt brine system to snow plows (news5cleveland.com) — Avon Lake is upgrading its winter road strategy by using a $75,000 Ohio EPA grant to add salt brine systems to two more city trucks, with two already equipped. City officials say pre-wetting salt with brine will improve driver safety, cut salt usage, and save money, helping Avon Lake avoid the shortages that plagued many Northeast Ohio communities last winter.
