3 Homes Burglarized In Avon Lake, Police Investigating

AVON LAKE, OH — Police are investigating a trio of burglaries that have occurred in Avon Lake over the past several weeks. Homes across the city have been broken into and jewelry has been stolen by thieves.

The first burglary happened between November 1 and November 3, according to Avon Lake police records. A resident on Tradewinds Drive returned after a weekend and found someone had broken into their home.

The burglar, or burglars, forced their way into the house through the back door. They stole the resident's grandmother's ring, with birthstones for each grandchild in the band.

A second burglary was reported November 6 on Waterford Court. A resident came home from work and discovered someone shattered her glass back door and came into her house. Jewelry was stolen from the resident's bedroom.

A third burglary happened between the evening of November 6 and the morning of November 7. A resident on Woodside Circle discovered someone had gotten into her garage and stole several items from her purse, which had been left inside her car.

The woman's driver's license, cash, a medical spending card and other items were inside the purse, police records said.
