5 of the Most Interesting Stories from the Avon-Avon Lake Area in 2016
Baby bald eagles, Johnny Manziel's house, a customer defecates on a laundromat's walls and other stories from this topsy turvy year.
AVON and AVON LAKE, OH - These past 12 months were a strange collection of moments. We lost a number of our most cherished celebrities (RIP David Bowie, Prince, and so many others), but our region celebrated its first professional sports title in nearly half a century.
In the Avon and Avon Lake area we had a number of exciting stories, some of which became national phenomena. This year included a trio of bald eagles hatching near Redwood Elementary, a crazed customer spreading their feces at Laundry Dock, and a tour through the man formerly known as Johnny Football's home.
It also included more conventionally good news, like two students being named National Merit seminfinalists. Ultimately, I think we can all agree 2016 was a strange year. To help you recall some of the highs and lows of the past 12 months, we've collected a bundle of stories from this year that you may find interesting. Check them out below.
