Avon Woman Passes Out in Drive-Thru of Taco Bell on Christmas Eve

The woman was believed to be under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place at 3:40 a.m.

AVON LAKE, OH - Eager to imitate a similar incident in Westlake, an Avon woman passed out in the drive-thru of a Taco Bell on Christmas Eve, completing the saddest holiday ritual of them all.

Police were called to the Taco Bell at 510 Avon Belden Road at 3:40 a.m. on Dec. 24 because the staff was reporting that a car had been stopped in the drive-thru line for an unusually long amount of time. When officers arrived they found a 32-year-old woman asleep at the wheel of her running car.

The woman was arrested and cited for physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Earlier this month, a 28-year-old Westlake man fell asleep behind the wheel of his 2002 Chevrolet pickup. He was in the driveway of a Taco Bell when he decided it was nap time.

When police officers woke the man, he lost control of the truck and rolled into a police cruiser. There was no damage. He was arrested for OVI, BAC (.089 breath), Failure to Control, and Seat Belt Required.

Hopefully this isn't the beginning of a trend, holiday or otherwise, of folks parking in the drive-thru of Taco Bells.
