Charges Brought In Cleveland Shooting That Wounded 2 Children
Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley says he believes the shooting was gang related. Lakewood Police aided the investigation.

LAKEWOOD, OH - Three teenagers, two juveniles and one adult, will face charges for an incident that left two children seriously wounded. Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O'Malley announced the charges on March 30.
The trio allegedly began shooting at rival gang members, missed, and shot a 3-year-old and 9-year-old. The 3-year-old was shot in the head and the 9-year-old was shot in the back. The children were inside a Dudley Avenue home when the shooting took place.
Jeron High, 18, and two 16-year-olds, face multiple counts of murder and felonious assault. O'Malley says he believes the three accused teenagers have gang affiliations and that the shooting. He added that he wants to have the two juveniles tried in Cuyahoga County Commons Pleas Court to send a message.

“The recent crimes committed by teenagers in the City of Cleveland is staggering,” O’Malley said in a statement. “We are pressing multiple, serious charges against these juveniles as well as the 18-year-old adult.”

The Avon Lake Police Department and the Lakewood Police Department aided the five month investigation into the accused teenagers. The investigation was led by the Cleveland Police Department.
