Dunkin' Donuts To Open Next Gen Store In Avon

AVON, OH — Dunkin' Donuts is bringing its store of the future to Northeast Ohio. The company broke ground on a new location at 1990 Moore Road in Avon on Wednesday. The Avon franchise will feature next generation concept design, a drive-thru exclusively for mobile ordering and other technological innovations.

“We are thrilled to be a part of Dunkin’ Donuts’ next generation store initiative and can’t wait to bring this innovative new restaurant to the Avon community,” said Carolyn Dalton, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. “The new menu offerings and approachable atmosphere will grab the attention of Dunkin’ fans and help keep Avon running on Dunkin’ for years to come.”

The new location will clock in at 1,859 square feet and will be one of the first new and remodeled Dunkin' Donuts to test this design. A final, new store design will be revealed after testing is complete, the company said.

The Avon store will also be one of the first locations to refer to the brand simply as "Dunkin'" on its signage.

One of the neatest features incorporated into the Avon design will be fully-integrated digital kiosks where guests can place an order. There will also be mobile pickups, so members of the DD Perks Rewards program can order ahead on the brand's app and then get in and out faster. Guests will be able to track the status of their orders placed for pickup once inside the restaurant using a digital order status board.

Plus, the mobile app will let customers order their donuts (and coffee, obviously) and then skip the drive-thru ordering lane and go straight to the window. Dunkin' Donuts says it's the first national restaurant to offer this new drive-thru experience.

The store's interior will also be overhauled to feature lighter colored material, open layouts and more natural light. Customers can also use a tap system to pick from eight cold beverages, including coffees, iced teas, cold brew coffee and nitro infused cold brew coffee.

Finally, the Avon store will be more energy efficient than other franchises. The company said its store is designed to save 25 percent more energy than the standard Dunkin' Donuts restaurant.
