Learn How To Protect Lake Erie At Avon Lake Event
An extension educator will discuss some of the threats posed to Ohio's most precious and important natural resource.

AVON LAKE, OH — Want to learn more about Ohio's greatest natural resource? On June 28, Sarah Orlando, an extension education with the Ohio Sea Grant, will discuss Lake Erie and the role it plays for the Buckeye State.
The event is being organized by the Avon Lake Environmental Affairs Advisory Board (EAAB). Avon Lake Public Library will play host to Orlando on June 28 at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Orlando's talk is officially titled, "Nonpoint Source Pollution, Lake Erie, and You!" During her presentation, she will discuss Lake Erie's role as a source of recreation, drinking water, and tourism value. She will also discuss the risks posed to the lake's value by increased nutrient loading from tributaries and other sources of runoff into the lake.

"Learn about why we should care, what is being done to address these issues, as well as ways you can help to become a part of the solution through the Ohio Clean Marinas Program!" the EAAB said in a press release.

The Ohio Sea Grant is a statewide program that supports greater stewardship of Lake Erie and other natural resources.
