Lorain Cannabis Dispensary Opens May 3

LORAIN, OH — After holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony in late April, the medical marijuana dispensary Rise Lorain is now open to the public.

Run by Green Thumb Industries (GTI), Rise Lorain is part of a string of 18 Rise locations throughout the nation. Green Thumb manufactures and sells cannabis flowers, concentrates, edibles and topicals. The company employs 600 people nationwide and has pulled licenses for 77 retail locations and operations throughout 12 markets in the U.S.

However, Rise Lorain and Rise Toledo opening May 6 are the company's first foray into Ohio.

"We are honored to be the first company to open up access to medical marijuana in Toledo and Lorain and be so warmly welcomed into these communities,” said GTI Founder and CEO Ben Kovler. “Rise is focused on helping people exercise their right to wellness through meticulous customer care and a curated assortment of cannabis products that bring relief and improve the quality of daily life.”

GTI is slated to open five Rise stores throughout Ohio, including the locations in Lorain and Toledo. Future sites include one store in Cleveland and two in Lakewood.

Rise Lorain is located at 1920 Cooper Foster Park Road. The store's hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
