Mailman Sprays Mace at Dog: Avon Lake Police Blotter

AVON LAKE, OH -

Other Offense, Nov. 25 - A mail carrier sprayed a resident's dog with mace. The carrier then came to the Avon Lake Police Department and reported that he felt threatened by the dog's owner. The resident and dog owner told police he never threatened the carrier, they merely reported him for macing their dog.

Burglary, Nov. 25 - A Somerset Lane resident reported that their house had been hit by a burglar sometime between Oct. 3 and Oct. 14 when the resident was out of town. Jewelry, cash, an XBox One and Wii game systems, and a laptop were taken.

Burglary, Nov. 25 - Residents of Moorehead Avenue reported that someone stole a bicycle from their garage on or around Nov. 17. There were no signs of forced entry at the garage and it's possible the bicycle was taken while the garage was open.

Disorderly Conduct, Nov. 25 - Skaters at the city skate park were reported for loudly using foul language. A caller also said she saw one of the skaters defecate near a tree. When police reported to the scene they cited one juvenile for disorderly conduct.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Nov. 26 - Officers saw a gold car parked on the side of the road and decided to speak to the driver. When they approached the vehicle they smelled burning marijuana. The driver was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and trafficking.
