New Nail Salon To Open In Avon Lake
Erie Nails will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday, but will have a ribbon cutting two days earlier.
AVON LAKE, OH — Erie Nails will celebrate its grand opening on September 29. Two days before that event, the city will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Walker Road business.
Erie Nails will open in the plaza next to Discount Drug Mart, on the northeast corner of Walker Road and Moore Road. It is the 11th business in the plaza. In the past year, two other shops, Avon Lake Shoe Repair and The Breakwall Food & Spirits, also opened in the plaza.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on September 27. Mayor Greg Zilka will be on-hand for the event, the city said.

Erie Nails is owned by Van Le, who has been working in a different Avon Lake nail salon for more than a decade. All customers who come to the salon on September 29 will get 40 percent off all services.
“Throughout the time that I have been working in this city, I have really liked the tight-knit community where most everyone is nice and seems to know each other,” said Le. “Now I have a chance to start my own business in this community that I have come to like so much, so I am very excited.”

Drug Mart opened in Avon Lake a little more than one year ago. The company brought 100 jobs to the city and has sparked revitalized tenancy in the surrounding plaza.
“Just a little over a year ago, Drug Mart Health Solutions opened on the other side of Walker Rd. with over 100 employees, bringing new customers to this plaza,” said Ted Esborn, Avon Lake’s Economic Development Director. “Now Erie Nails is our third locally owned business to open in the plaza since then. It has been great to see more and more cars in this parking lot and more people patronizing these businesses.
