Swenson's Breaks Ground In Avon, Brings Food Truck To Town

The company sold lunch on Monday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. All its proceeds from lunch will go to the Every Child's Playground.

AVON, OH — Swenson's announced that it broke ground on its new Avon location on Monday. To celebrate, the company brought its food truck to its future home, 36041 Main Street, and sold lunch from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds from lunch sales will benefit the Every Child's Playground.

News of the burger joint's planned location was broken on Facebook by Avon City Councilwoman Tammy Holtzmeier in late April. The restaurant will be open year-round and will have more than 1,700 square feet of operating space.

Swensons recently opened its second Cuyahoga County restaurant in University Heights and has already announced plans to open another location in North Olmsted. The North Olmsted location will be located on Lorain Road.

It's unclear when the Avon or North Olmsted locations will be open. It is clear, however, that the restaurant has created a devoted, almost cult-like following. Cleveland's east side suburb residents were ecstatic when the University Heights location was announced and the restaurant has been packed since opening. A similar response should be expected in Avon.
