• Barberton Police Arrest Murder Suspect in Arizona After Fatal Wooster Road Stabbing Leaves 26-Year-Old Woman Dead Inside Home (centralrecorder.com) — Barberton police have arrested a 35-year-old man in Arizona after a 26-year-old woman was found fatally stabbed inside a Wooster Road West home in Barberton. Investigators quickly turned a missing-person call into a homicide case, using license plate readers and multi-agency cooperation to track the suspect as he allegedly tried to flee toward Mexico. Extradition to Ohio and local court proceedings are now pending.
   

• Akron woman identified after being struck, killed by truck at Barberton hospital (cleveland.com) — A 34-year-old Akron woman has been identified as the pedestrian killed after a truck backing up struck her in the docking area at Summa Barberton Citizens Hospital, where she worked. The incident happened Friday afternoon on the Barberton campus, and she later died in the hospital’s emergency department. Barberton police and the Summit County Medical Examiner are investigating while officials review what happened and whether any charges are expected.
