• Beachwood Mayor Berns explains that he has had no involvement in possible sale of hotel site to his brother (cleveland.com) — Beachwood residents are being assured that Mayor Justin Berns has recused himself from any role in his developer brother's potential purchase of the former DoubleTree hotel site on Park East Drive, after concerns raised by the school superintendent. City Law Director Todd Hunt says the mayor followed ethics rules, while school leaders stress they must avoid any appearance of favoritism around tax incentives.
