Security At Forefront Of Jewish Federation Meeting
The 113th Annual Meeting of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland will focus on the new security agenda for Jewish Cleveland.

BEACHWOOD, OH - The theme of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland's 113th Annual Meeting will be security and protection of the Jewish community in Cleveland. Ronald Clark, who served as Deputy Under Secretary for the National Protection and Program Directorate (NPPD) at the Department of Homeland Security, will be a featured speaker at the event.
The event is free and open to all who want to attend. The Annual Meeting will be held April 20 at 7:30 pm at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation, 27501 Fairmount Blvd. in Pepper Pike.
Clark served in the White House under two presidents: George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He will join the Federation to discuss "Jewish Cleveland: The New Security Agenda." Clark's bona fides are impressive. He is a retired Marine Corps infantry and force reconnaissance officer. He is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and the National Security Council Outstanding Service Award. He is currently the CEO of Spartan Strategy and Risk Management, providing advisory services on national security challenges.

Security has become a prominent issue in Jewish communities across the United States. Over President's Day weekend in 2017, the Mandel Community Center in Beachwood was one of 10 Jewish Community Centers (JCCs) across the nation to receive bomb threats. More than 100 bomb threats have been received by JCCs across the nation since January 2017.
“The Federation’s Annual Meeting is one of our most compelling events of the year. This year, our community comes together and welcomes Clark to discuss the safety and security of Jews living at home and around the world,” said Todd Stein, who co-chairs the annual meeting with his wife Carmie of Moreland Hills, in an emailed statement.
