• Suspect in Bellaire housemate homicide back in court (wtrf.com) — A Bellaire man accused in a January housemate shooting is moving toward trial, with lawyers now preparing for an August 18 start date in Belmont County. The judge approved funds for a defense investigator and will consider a request to split the homicide and weapons charges, with another pretrial hearing scheduled in May.
   

• Caboose Project Rolls Toward Bellaire – Mountain Media, LLC (mountainmessenger.com) — Bellaire’s historic Great Stone Viaduct plaza is getting a restored B&O caboose that will serve as a new attraction and educational space in the village. The nonprofit leading the project has nearly finished exterior restoration and expects the caboose in town by late summer, while continuing to raise funds and expand the viaduct park as a regional draw for visitors and community events.
   

• Holmes Pitches St. C. Past Brooke As Sliva Collects 500th Career Win (timesleaderonline.com) — St. Clairsville’s baseball team helped longtime coach Tom Sliva earn his 500th career win with a 5-1 victory over Brooke, a milestone rooted in part in his earlier success at St. John Central in Bellaire. Sophomore pitcher Kohen Holmes threw a complete game, while timely hitting and small-ball offense powered the Red Devils as they chase OVAC playoff positioning.
