1. ECO Center opens with the goal to provide community with education and wellness (timesleaderonline.com) — A newly opened ECO Center at Ohio University Eastern is bringing primary care, dental services, fitness, and event space closer to families in Belmont County. Backed by state Appalachian health grants, the facility aims to cut long trips for Medicaid‑accepting providers, reduce student absenteeism, and host school and athletic events, creating a multi‑use hub for wellness and education.
   

2. New school-clothing push fills gap after voucher program ends in Belmont County (wtov9.com) — Families in Belmont County who lost a long-running back‑to‑school clothing voucher program now have a new $150,000 assistance initiative funded by local agencies. The program, open Aug. 5–19, aims to help about 850 students get essential school clothes, especially those who narrowly miss income cutoffs but still struggle to afford basics.
   

3. Belmont County Juvenile Court celebrates completion of 2026 youth fitness, trade program (wtov9.com) — Belmont County Juvenile Court has wrapped up its 10‑week CCAP and CrossFit for Trade summer programs, celebrating teens who built confidence, fitness and decision‑making skills. Participants met twice weekly, completed community service projects across Belmont County, and received mentoring, counseling and nutrition support aimed at long‑term success.
   

4. Martins Ferry to implement GovPilot system to speed operations, target neglected homes (wtov9.com) — Martins Ferry is adopting the GovPilot software system by Sept. 1 to crack down more efficiently on neglected and tax‑delinquent properties, many owned by people living far from Belmont County. The cloud‑based platform will let officials and police track violations from the field, while residents gain an online tool to report overgrown yards, condemned homes, and other neighborhood concerns.
