Officers reported signs of alcohol use, obtained a blood-test warrant at Wood County Hospital, and transported her to the county jail.

Homestead exemptions available to some homeowners (sent-trib.com) — Bowling Green homeowners may qualify for significant property tax savings through Wood County’s Homestead Exemption, which can remove $29,000 to $58,000 of home value from taxation. Seniors, disabled residents, certain veterans, and surviving spouses of first responders are encouraged to review the updated 2026 income and eligibility rules. Applications and renewals can be handled online or with help from the auditor’s office.

BGSU program designed to get back to basics of U.S. civics (toledoblade.com subscription) — Bowling Green State University is hosting a year-long CIVICs 250 Scholars program to help K-12 teachers strengthen how they teach U.S. history and civics. Thirty educators are on campus this week for intensive training, funded by a federal grant, then will return to their districts with new lessons focused on America’s founding documents and more constructive civic dialogue.

Scots use small ball to down Flyers, 5-1 (sent-trib.com) — Lake High School’s baseball season ended Tuesday with a 5-1 regional semifinal loss to Marengo Highland at Bowling Green State University’s Warren Steller Field. Despite strong careers from seniors Gavin Kohlhofer and Jack Sobczak, the Flyers couldn’t capitalize on late scoring chances. The largely underclassmen roster returns almost intact, giving local fans reason to watch this young team develop.

Sister Diana Lynn Eckel (sent-trib.com) — A woman whose religious vocation began at St. Aloysius Parish in Bowling Green has died just before her 81st birthday, after decades of service in Catholic education and leadership. Sister Diana Lynn Eckel is remembered for her compassionate ministry, especially as a principal and congregational leader. Welcoming and funeral services will be held this week in Sylvania, with livestream available.
