• Brecksville city workers, City Council, to receive active-shooter training in light of North Royalton murder (cleveland.com) — Brecksville is rolling out ALICE active-shooter training for all city workers and offering it to City Council members after the fatal shooting of a North Royalton official. Led by two Brecksville police instructors, the sessions will cover survival decisions, lockdowns, evacuation, and basic lifesaving skills, with additional security measures like metal detectors still under consideration. 
• Brecksville hires traffic engineer to review projected traffic patterns at Valor Acres (cleveland.com) — Brecksville has hired Twinsburg-based TMS Engineers to double-check projected traffic patterns around the Valor Acres development at Brecksville and Miller roads. Over about six weeks, the firm will review the developer's reports and recommend any needed new signals or turn-lane changes, especially with the Cleveland Clinic outpatient center and mixed-use construction moving ahead.
• Prolific shoplifter steals more than $300 in groceries: Brecksville Police Blotter (cleveland.com) — Brecksville police are investigating a repeat shoplifter who allegedly used a fake cellphone payment at the Chippewa Road Heinen's to steal more than $300 in groceries across two visits. The same suspect is believed to have pulled similar thefts in Bay Village and University Heights, and local officers are working from surveillance footage and store reports.
