100 Best Jobs in 2017: Find Open Positions in the Cleveland Area

U.S. News and World Report's latest look at the workforce finds healthcare positions are in high demand. Cleveland is no exception.

CLEVELAND, OH - If you're looking for a new job to kickstart your 2017, you're in luck. U.S. News has just released its 2017 list of the 1o0 best jobs, as well as top jobs across 15 categories, including the best-paying jobs and the top positions for specific fields and interests.

A disappointing paycheck or astronomical student loan bill might be important driving factors to start a search for a new opportunity, but the rankings aren't just about salary. U.S. News also included factors like growth potential and work-life balance.

More than half of the 100 best jobs are linked to health care. Dentist was at the top of the list, followed by nurse practitioner and physician assistant. Several health care jobs also topped the list of best-paying jobs.

“Health care jobs often require a human element, so they can’t be exported or entirely replaced by robots – at least not yet,” said Susannah Snider, personal finance editor at U.S. News. “Continued growth in the health care sector, low unemployment rates and high salaries make these jobs especially desirable. Plus, individuals can pursue a range of health care positions that require varying levels of skill and education.”

The Patch jobs board is filled with thousands of openings across the region. We did a search for some of the job titles at the top of the U.S. News list. Here are some of the opportunities we found in town.

1. Dentist

  • Associate Dentist, Buckeye Dental and Brace - Located in Avon, Buckeye is a well-established dental practice, seeking to add a part-time dentist. This person is currently needed for two days a week, but there is an opportunity to expand to five days in the future.

  • Pediatrician, Weatherby Healthcare - Located in Beachwood, a new, locum tenens Pediatrician opportunity is now available in Ohio. The shift times are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. They are looking for someone to cover 14 to 15 shifts per month from August through October. Locums physician will do ER consults and attend C-sections and deliveries.

  • Social Worker, Medical Care Facility - Located in Cleveland, this facility is looking for a social worker for our western suburban facility. Must have knowledge of case work process, MDS, CAAS, care plans, discharge planning, medical terminology, assessments, public welfare, private insurance and community health resources.
