Accused Ohio City Bank Robber Indicted
Mark Lloyd, of East Cleveland, was arrested after he waltzed into Cleveland City Hall and a security guard recognized his face.

CLEVELAND, OH - Mark Lloyd, the East Cleveland man accused of robbing two W. 25th Street banks, has been indicted. The 31-year-old allegedly hit the Ohio Savings Bank on Jan. 30, 2017 and PNC Bank on Feb. 13, 2017.
The Cleveland division of the FBI spent weeks trying to locate Lloyd, passing his name and photograph to the media, and asking the public for help in locating him. In a class bonehead move, Lloyd got himself arrested when he waltzed into Cleveland City Hall and tried to obtain a copy of his birth certificate. He allegedly told workers at Cleveland City Hall that his name was Michael Lloyd.
A security guard at City Hall recognized Lloyd from his photographs, which had been posted on Patch and on other media outlets, and took the East Clevelander into custody. Police say Lloyd's distinctive gun tattoo, located beneath his eye, gave him away.

During his two robberies, Lloyd made off with less money than the public might imagine. The Ohio Savings Bank robbery yielded $918 and the PNC robbery got a more significant, $4,238.
The FBI says Lloyd entered the Ohio Savings Bank on Jan. 30 and told the teller he wanted to open a checking account. However, before opening an account Lloyd told the teller he wanted the bank's money or he would shoot her. He then flashed a black, semi-automatic gun. The teller handed him the money and Lloyd ran out.
