Body Found Wrapped in a Tarp Under Bridge, Identified as North Olmsted man

James Cashin, 65, was a retired Cuyahoga County probation officer who also owned his own lie detector business.

CLEVELAND, OH — The body of a 65-year-old North Olmsted man was found covered by a tarp under a bridge near the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Saturday. The man was identified as James Cashin — a retired Cuyahoga County probation officer who also owned his own lie detector business, Cleveland.com reports.

A woman looking for mushrooms came across Cashin's body beneath the West 25th Street bridge at around 1:45 p.m., although investigators found evidence that Cashin was killed in North Olmsted, according to The News-Herald.

Police have yet to announce exactly where or how investigators believe Cashin was killed, but they did say they're investigating his death as a homicide.

Cashin spent 30 years as a polygraph examiner and a spokesman for the Cuyahoga County Commons Pleas Court. He started his own lie detection company, Associated Lie Detection Services, in 2000 and retired from his role as a probation officer in 2004, Cleveland.com says.

Cashin's company was run out of his home. He made about $28,000 each year, according to records.

Police said Cashin's death doesn't appear related to his job.

Two men are in custody for the homicide and could be charged as early as this afternoon, police said. Their identities won't be released until they're formally charged, according to Cleveland.com.
