On July 20, 2020, Borden was inside a home on E. 81st St. He pulled out a gun and threatened a woman inside the home, the indictment said.

Two Cleveland police officers went to the home and found Borden hiding in a bathroom. He fired multiple shots at the officers, hitting one in the arm, prosecutors said. The officers returned fire and ran out of the house to safety.

Cleveland EMS took the wounded officer to a hospital for treatment. SWAT and other Cleveland police surrounded the home and eventually took Borden into custody, prosecutors said.

Borden is being held at Cuyahoga County Jail on a $500,000 bond. He will be arraigned Tuesday morning.
