Feds may end Ohio manufacturing program after audit cites $20.9 million in misspending (signalohio.org) — Federal auditors say Ohio mishandled $20.9 million in manufacturing support funds, putting the future of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program at risk and directly implicating Cleveland-based MAGNET for questionable spending and oversight. The report details alleged waste, conflicts of interest, and COVID-era PPE revenue issues, while MAGNET disputes what it calls a false picture as affiliates statewide cut services and staff.
