Cleveland man charged with mailing more than $450,000 from cocaine trafficking.

A Cleveland man faces federal charges of mailing more than $450,000 in cocaine trafficking money, reported to cleveland.com.

Nelson Figueroa, 35, was indicted on 13 counts of using a communication facility to facilitate the commission of a felony, the U.S. Attorney said in a release.

Figueroa mailed packages containing between $30,000 and $60,000 between July and August, the indictment said.

The money has been seized by federal agents, who are asking a judge to have Figueroa forfeit it.

Figueroa has a previous criminal history, including at least one federal drug conviction. In 2011, he was sentenced to more than four years in federal prison for attempting to possess cocaine with intent to distribute. He also sent drug money in the mail in that case, according to records.

Figueroa pleaded guilty last year for attempting to cheat at a game at Horseshoe Casino in downtown Cleveland.

Figueroa’s attorney, Timothy Haffey, said that he had not seen the indictment as of Wednesday. The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge John Adams in Akron, Ohio.
