Cuyahoga Corrections Officer Faces Extortion Charges
The officer was already charged with assault of a restrained inmate, the Ohio Attorney General said.
CLEVELAND — A Cuyahoga County corrections officer has been charged with extortion and intimidation, the Ohio Attorney General announced. The corrections officer was previously accused of pepper spraying a restrained inmate.
According to an indictment filed against Idris-Farid Clark, the corrections officer threatened his former coworkers, telling them if they didn't testify on his behalf he would release compromising videos of them. He has now been charged with extortion and intimidation, the Ohio Attorney General's Office announced.
The FBI investigated the newest accusations against Clark.

Clark is currently in custody at Geauga County Jail. His bond was set at $100,000.
Clark was already facing charges of assault on an inmate. According to prosecutors, on July 16, 2018, Clark and another corrections officer put an inmate into a restraint chair and then pepper sprayed him. Clark was charged with felonious assault, assault, interfering with civil rights and unlawful restraint.

The state has charged several Cuyahoga County corrections officers with civil rights violations and other crimes. In April 2019, the state accused five corrections officers of crimes. Three additional indictments against other officers followed.
