Forecast: Scorching Hot 4th Of July For Northeast Ohio

Northeast Ohioans will be sweating on Independence Day, according to current forecasts.

CLEVELAND — Northeast Ohioans should get plenty of sunscreen before the Independence Day holiday. Temperatures could climb into the 90s on July 4th in Northeast Ohio.

The holiday weekend will be sunny and dry, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s on Friday, before scaling into the 90s on Saturday.

Fireworks displays are canceled in many Ohio communities, but nature will provide a nearly full moon to light up the sky. Independence Day evening will be partly cloudy in places, but temperatures will dip into the 70s, making the outside a more palatable place to be.

The rest of the holiday weekend will be similarly hot and dry. Sunday will have a high in the low 90s, according to current forecasts, and a low in the 70s. No rain is expected. Temperatures will remain high heading into the work week.

Northeast Ohio is in the midst of a prolonged dry spell. Temperatures will climb steadily through the week and into the weekend, and there is little chance of rain in the forecast. Current projections show temperatures escalating through at least the beginning of next week.
