Free Meals For Cleveland Kids This Summer

The city and the Cleveland School District will provide meals to kids who are 18-years-old and younger.

CLEVELAND, OH — Free meals will be provided to children ages 18 and younger through the Cleveland Division of Recreation's Summer Food Service Program. Children will be able to visit any Cleveland recreation center, and some partner locations throughout the city, and receive a free meal.

The meals will be available Monday through Friday. Free meals are also available to people, ages 19-21, with Individualized Education Program (IEP).

“During the school year, many of our families rely on school meals to meet the nutritional needs of their children,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson in a statement. “This Summer Food Service program assures that our families will not face a void when schools close for summer recess.”

All meals are served on a first come, first serve basis. A complete list of meal serving locations, and times meals will be served, is available here.

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is also offering free meals to children ages 18 or younger. Those meals will also be served Monday through Friday. The district will also offer low-cost meals to parents accompanying children.
