Heartless Felon Member Gets 23 Years In Prison

D'wan Dillard, Jr. will serve 23 years in prison for a pair of carjackings he committed in August 2015.

CLEVELAND, OH — D’wan Dillard, Jr., 21, has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for a pair of carjackings in the Tremont neighborhood. In 2015, Dillard pistol whipped a man and stole his Jeep Grand Cherokee. Four days later, he stole another man's Porsche.

On August 14, 2015, Dillard, and his partner Tervon’tae Taylor, robbed a man leaving a Tremont restaurant. They pistol whipped the man, took his wallet, and then stole the Cherokee. Five days later, the duo stole another man's Porsche.

Dillard is one of five men that have been convicted for crimes related to carjackings in Cleveland. Taylor, Keneth Jackson, Antowine Palmer, and Calvin Rembert were also convicted. Dillard was the first to be sentenced and the others are awaiting their sentencing.

“This defendant used a firearm to rob people who were working or visiting friends,” David A. Sierleja, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, said in a statement. “This sentence demonstrates our commitment to using every statute available to lock up violent predators.”

Dillard was officially sentenced to 194 months in prison. Prior to serving out that sentence, Dillard will spend seven years in a state prison for a separate crimes. He has previously been found guilty of two counts of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Dillard and his cohorts are all reportedly members of the violent gang the Heartless Felons, Fox 8 repots.

“These defendants terrorized victims and the city with their dangerous, gun-wielding car thefts,” Stephen D. Anthony, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Cleveland office, said in a statement. “The Violent Crime Task Force and our local partners are committed to aggressively investigate predators who choose to engage in heinous acts of violence against our citizens.”
