New Year's Eve and Day Forecast: Snowy End of the Week for Greater Clevelanders

Forecasts are calling for up to three inches of snow this evening. Another inch is possible Friday morning.

NORTHEAST OHIO - Forecasts are calling for one final snowstorm to end the year because, well...you didn't think 2016 would let you out that easy, right? One of our worst years ever, in terms of celebrity deaths, will say goodbye to Northeast Ohioans with a final burst of snowstorms.

The National Weather Service is predicting up to four inches of snow will fall Thursday, with another inch inbound on Friday morning. Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid-20s, so find that winter coat you shed last week.

Luckily, the snow should come (mostly) to a halt by New Year's Eve. A half-inch dusting is possible for Saturday, but that's nothing to most Northeast Ohioans. Expect a few rain showers prior to the ball dropping, as well.

New Year's Day will be partly sunny, with a high near 36. Chances of rain or snow are about 50 percent for the day, with the best chance for precipitation coming in the early morning hours as nature prepares to wash away the horrible stench of 2016.

In case you needed a reminder of how terrible 2016 has been, here are just some of the iconic stars we've lost in the past 12 months:

The worst part is that those are just some of the people who passed on in 2016. Good riddance to a tough year, and let's hope Betty White makes it through 2017 and someone puts Paul McCartney in protective casing.
