Ohio Savings Bank on Cleveland's West Side Robbed

The suspect was armed and fled along W. 25th Street. Reward money is available for tips that lead to his arrest.

CLEVELAND, OH - The Ohio Savings Bank in Ohio City on West 25th Street was robbed today at about 1:10 p.m., police say. An unidentified man robbed the man, apparently working by himself.

The man entered the bank and told the a teller that he wanted to open a checking account. However, before opening an account the man then told the teller that he wanted the bank's money or he would shoot her. He also handed her a note saying the same thing. The man flashed a black, semi-automatic gun.

The teller complied with the man's demands and the suspect left the bank going north on West 25th before going east on Bridge Ave. No one was hurt during the robbery. No additional details about the robbery were available.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5'7", medium build, with a black inked gun tattoo under his right eye.

Tips can be provided to the Cleveland Division of the FBI at 216-522-1400 or the Cleveland Division of Police, 4th district. Tips can remain anonymous. Reward money is available for information leading to the successful identification and prosecution of the individual responsible.
