1-Year-Old Killed In Cleveland Was From University Heights

CLEVELAND β€” Authorities have identified the 1-year-old boy that was shot and killed in Cleveland on Saturday night as Isaiah Martin, a University Heights resident.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Martin's identity and his hometown on Monday morning. The boy was pronounced dead at MetroHealth Medical Center on Saturday.

Police were called to the 14200 block of Rexwood Avenue at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday. Callers said there had been a shooting involving a 1-year-old child.

Officers arrived, found Martin and rushed him to MetroHealth Medical Center. Martin was later pronounced deceased, police said.

Investigators are exploring the possibility of an accidental shooting, police said. The shooter may have been a person inside the home.
