1st Charter Review Meeting Set For Nov. 16 In Cleveland Heights
For the first time in more than three decades, the city's charter will be reviewed and possibly updated.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β On Nov. 16, for the first time in more than 30 years, a group of 15 people will gather and review the city's guiding legal document. That evening will see the first meeting of the new Charter Review Commission.
The group may be tasked with addressing issues like term limits, anti-discrimination language and more.The commission will be tasked with investigating issues to study, doing fact-finding, and then addressing said issues.
The first meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Community Center. The meeting will be videotaped and broadcast on the city's channel and on YouTube. Subsequent meetings of the commission will be held at Cleveland Heights City Hall.

The meeting on Nov. 16 will be facilitated by Larry Keller. Keller will provide an overview of the charter review process and answer questions.
Members of the commission were chosen from a pool of submitted applications. City council members then appointed one individual each. The final eight members of the council were appointed by the council as a whole.

"I want to thank all these individuals for their time and commitment to Cleveland Heights and its future," said Cleveland Heights Mayor Cheryl Stephens in a press release. "The work they are about to undertake can have a meaningful impact on our city for the long-term."
