23-Year-Old Killed In Shooting In Cleveland Heights

Police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old Cleveland Heights man.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A 23-year-old Cleveland Heights man was killed in a shooting over the weekend.

Malik Moore's death is being investigated as a suspected homicide, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office announced Monday. Moore was found on Oakdale Road and taken to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Gunshots were heard near Oakdale and Meadowbrook Boulevard on Saturday evening. When police searched the area, they found Moore on the ground outside of an Oakdale home. Officers gave him first aid until EMS rushed him to University Hospitals.

Investigators believe Moore was walking home when someone approached him and shot him several times. No suspects have yet been identified.

The investigation into Moore's death is ongoing, Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said.
