$335,000 In Fraudulent Benefits Nets Indictment For Euclid Woman

A 68-year-old woman allegedly received fraudulent Social Security benefits for more than two decades.

EUCLID, OH β€” Gwendolyn Cox-Johnson, 68, of Euclid, has been indicted with fraudulently receiving government funds for more than two decades. She faces charges for theft of government funds, law enforcement officials said in a statement.

For 23 years, Cox-Johnson reportedly received benefits from the Social Security Administration. During that time span, she received approximately $335,000, law enforcement says. An investigation into the fraud was conducted by the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General. Special Assistant United States Attorney Lisa J. Sanniti is prosecuting the case.
