The recently released Ohio school report cards requires a lot of understanding - which I don't claim to have, but there are two glaring comparisons I want to make.
Out of 24 "standards", the CH-UH district "met" 7. Shaker met 22. South Euclid-Lyndhurst met 15.
CH *does* earn some high letter grades. The "Gifted Student" grade of "A" beats Shaker's "B" and SE-L's "F".
Which is consistent with the Master Facilities Plan (MFP) and the $155 Phase I and the proposed bond issue that cynically neglects the seven elementary schools and their 2,600 elementary school students for another decade.
But it pays for (all local $, no state funding) a $7.5 MILLION Olympic sized swimming pool in the $100 MILLION Phase I high school renovation.
(Of course, the city of CH closed the functioning Denison pool just a couple of years ago.)
Guess which kids' parents were on the committee that came up with the MFP and Phase I?
