AAA Safety Award Given To Cleveland Heights Police

This is the second straight year the department has been recognized for its community safety activities.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β€” AAA awarded the Community Traffic Safety Platinum Award to Cleveland Heights Police yesterday. This is the second straight year the department has received the award.

"I am very proud of the efforts of every officer on the Cleveland Heights Police Department who work so hard every day to make Cleveland Heights a safer community," Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said. "It is quite an honor to receive the Platinum Award from AAA for the second year in a row and it was only possible because of the commitment and dedication of all the men and women on the Police Department. It was truly a team effort."

The Platinum Award is given to departments that work to make their community safer through a variety of activities. Only 16 police departments in Northeast Ohio received the award this year. The winners were honored at a luncheon held at Embassy Suites in Independence.
