Ambulance Being Provided To East Cleveland By County

The city's ambulances were all out of commission, leaving the city without a usable ambulance to provide aid to residents.

EAST CLEVELAND, OH β€” Cuyahoga County is donating an ambulance to East Cleveland. The city was briefly without a usable ambulance, meaning emergency personnel could not get to residents in-need.

β€œEast Cleveland continues to face challenges and we were able to alleviate some of the strain. Whether it is the coordination of services at the Arco dump, saving the senior center, or helping with the ambulance, we are doing all we can for the citizens of East Cleveland," said Armond Budish, Cuyahoga County executive. "It is critical to me that all our residents know we are helping them, no matter the zip code.”

The county received an emergency request from East Cleveland recently, requesting help. The city said its ambulances were all out of commission and there were no longer ambulances available to respond to distressed residents.

Luckily, Mayor Ed Kraus of Solon recently donated an ambulance to Cuyahoga County. That ambulance will now be used in East Cleveland and will become a permanent part of the city's fire department.

β€œThrough working together over time, both Solon and East Cleveland knew to contact us, and we were able to connect an asset with a need,” said Cuyahoga County Director of Public Safety Brandy Carney.
