Attempted Child Abduction In Cleveland Heights
A man in a burgundy truck reportedly attempted to lure a 12-year-old boy into his vehicle this week.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β A man attempted to lure a 12-year-old boy into his truck on Tuesday, according to police. The boy was getting off a bus near Crest and Wood roads when the man asked him to get into his vehicle.
Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said the incident happened at about 3 p.m. Tuesday. The boy was walking home when he passed a truck and the man inside asked him to get into the vehicle.
The boy ignored the man and kept walking and the truck pulled away. No one was hurt.

Police have been assigned to the area, according to Mecklenburg, but they've been unable to locate the vehicle or identify the man involved. However, there is a description of the man and his vehicle available.
The truck is a burgundy color and has rust near the rear driver's wheel. It is believed the truck had Ohio license plates, but the plate numbers are unknown.

The man himself is believed to be a middle aged white man, with black and gray hair, dark colored eyes and a thick black and gray mustache.
"One resident has reported seeing a truck matching the description in the area previously, typically on the day of trash collection. There have been no other reports of the male in this vehicle approaching children in the area," Mecklenburg said.
