Give Children Halloween Safety Tips at a Spiders and Cider Party

This idea is a family favorite that proved to be very helpful for me as a parent and extremely resourceful for the safety of my children on Halloween. As Halloween was approaching, we would talk about the many ways to be safe while having fun at a Spiders and Ciders party.

To make a night of Spiders and Cider, we start with dressing the kitchen with a theme of Halloween. This truly brings excitement to the idea. We purchase spider web pattern cups, small plates and napkins from any party center store.

Now the fun begins. We use pizza dough to shape into a spider and add favorite toppings. We use basic sugar cookie dough to shape and make spider cookies. I prefer the homemade version, but the store-bought dough works just as well.

The goal is to make spiders creatively with lots of color and uniqueness. We give a prize for the best-dressed spider.

The pizza spiders and the cookie spiders are served with apple cider infused with mints from the herb garden.

This idea for me personally is time to get together as a family and talk in great detail about being safe while Trick-or-Treating.
