Of Spring and Cemeteries and Poetweets
The latest on the Heights Poetweet Project. Poems and a video.
I am pleased that people are tweeting me their impressions of Spring in the Heights - and of Lakeview Cemetery where the Poetweet Project got ts start. Here's a short video of that event, filmed and edited by Stephen Bellamy - thank you, Stephen. Warning! Former Shaker Heights folks who lived in the Onaway neighborthood may get nostalgic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxZ10plTvlE
Three poems have been posted inspired by contributed tweets to date. Here's the latest one.

cushioned in spring grass;
a blanket of renewal pulled
up snug against eternity.
These people are not mine.
But I am reminded of those
now gone; their fragile bones
lying quiet under Prairie corn
or under other stones - an age,
an ocean or a continent away.
In this garden, lush with memory,
the river of the grassy blanket runs
between the stones. These lives
have had their moment in the stream
of time —and now it’s ours.

There's still time in May to tweet your impressions of spring in the Heights to #htspoetweet. The topic for June changes to recreation. More on that later.
