The House, The Street, the Way it Used to be

Our home, 1927 & 2011

This is a little story I would like to share with my neighbors. The inspiration came to me as a result of Michelle Simakis asking for photos of our garden. A few years ago I received a letter from a man who once lived in our house in 1927. He sent to us pictures of our home from 1927. Take a close look at the street during that time, on the side porch of the house you will see a a little boy behind a child security gate. He told us that that was him.

Look at the landscape at that time. Since 1927 there is only one tree remaining from the original landscape since we moved here in 1982. It is a very large oak tree in the back yard, that has survived being hit by lightning three times since we have been living here. Today I am posting photos from 1927 and photos from 2011 taken by my husband George. Then and now, the house, the street, the way it used to be.

Have a Great Day!
