The KIMA HOTEL, A Christmas Story!

A Christmas Story.

Happy Holidays to everyone!

I am proud to announce that our Granddaughter Kima is visiting us from Stevenson Ranch, California.

In preparation for her arrival Papa Jenkins and I have made the KIMA HOTEL festive and bright with lots of love and lights.

, this is a bedroom for my Kima. She named this room. Some of her suggestions and designs have been incorporated as well. This is my favorite room in my home.

We have cleaned her china, ironed the napkins and we are prepared to bake cookies of her choice for Tea Parties.

Since December 1, I have received calls daily from Kima with a countdown of her arrival. She sounds so excited, she even tells me that she can't wait to come here to Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Little does she know, Mama Jenkins is excited too, with great anticipation to read stories, bake cookies, have parties, and shop for that one outfit that we purchase to dress and take a look alike picture. Last year the look was leopard.

The KIMA HOTEL has many memories. All of the china and the cloth napkins have been in the family for three generations. The miniature tea set sitting on the tray on her bed (see photo), was given to me 50 years ago when I was ten years old. I gave the same tea set to my daughter thirty years ago when she was ten years old. Kima doesn't know yet, that she will also receive this tea set next year on her tenth birthday.

Kima and her friends wear my vintage hats, gloves, fur coats, jewelry and sunglasses when they have parties at the KIMA HOTEL. We occasionally make movies for them to take home and share with their families.

I really wanted to share my delightful holiday experience and excitement. I hope you have a story to share too!

Pliease enjoy this pictorial view of the KIMA HOTEL at Christmas, 2011.

Have a Great Day!
