There's less than one week left to help the Cleveland Foodbank win $45,000 in Walmart's Fighting Hunger Together Facebook contest.
The Foodbank is vying for one of 40 grants. About 100 food banks around the country are competing for the grant. Voting ends April 30.
The $45,000 would benefit the Cleveland Foodbank's BackPack for Kids program, which provides food to children who are at risk of hunger to eat over the weekend. The Cleveland Foodbank serves a six-county area which includes Ashtabula, Ashland, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Richland counties.

"The kids that we service in our general area deal with hunger on a daily basis," said one site administrator of the BackPack program. "Without these essential programs, I can almost guarantee you that many kids in our area would go hungry each and every day."
Another site administrator shares similar sentiments about the program's importance.

"This program has relieved some of the hunger issues for the kids but it also has eased the minds of those at the schools who love these kids and send them home to the unknown.”
