Car Pulled From Lower Shaker Lake Was Stolen In 2008
A Cleveland Heights city official confirmed that the car found at the bottom of the lake was reported stolen in 2008.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - The car found at the bottom of Lower Shaker Lake on Monday was reported stolen in 2008, a Cleveland Heights official told Patch.
The vehicle was taken from a driver in Cleveland more than 10 years ago. It's not yet clear when the car ended up at the bottom of the lake.
Crews began draining the Lower Shaker Lake on Monday, as part of a dredging project, and were surprised to find a rusted, muddy car beneath the waters. Divers and tow trucks worked together to remove the car by Tuesday.

The vehicle was found near the municipal line dividing Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights. Due to its exact location, the vehicle investigation was turfed to Cleveland Heights police.
A full investigation into the car has been launched.

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is rehabilitating two dams in the Shaker Lakes. The Lower Lake was drained so construction could begin along the bank near Brook Road.
The $2.3 million project is intended to improve water quality in the Doan Brook.
