Car Removed From Lower Shaker Lake
Investigators have begun looking into how the car ended up in the lake and who put it there.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - When crews drained the Lower Shaker Lake on Monday, they weren't expecting to find a rusting car. But when the water receded, there it was - a sedan at the bottom of lake.
The vehicle was found near the municipal line dividing Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights. Due to its exact location, the vehicle investigation was turfed to Cleveland Heights police.
On Monday, police called upon the help of tow truck drivers and divers to pull the car from the lake. By Tuesday, the vehicle was removed and the dredging project could move forward.

A Cleveland Heights official told Patch a full investigation has been launched into the car. At this point, very little has been revealed about how the car ended up beneath the waters or who left the vehicle there.
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is rehabilitating two dams in the Shaker Lakes. The Lower Lake was drained so construction could begin along the bank near Brook Road.
